Toma de muestras para Cultivos Cultivo faríngeo: No se bañe la boca con crema dental ni use enjuague bucal el día de la toma de la muestra. Debe estar en ayunas. Cultivos para gérmenes comunes de heridas y lesiones en piel: No se aplique lociones, cremas o ungüentos de ninguna clase en el sitio de la lesión, mínimo dos días antes de la toma de la muestra. Indique a la persona que le tome la muestra, los medicamentos que consume o se aplica (incluyendo tratamiento caseros y homeopáticos) y si ha tomado antibióticos en la última semana. Cultivos de hongos: Si el examen se solicita para uñas, remueva el esmalte tres días antes de la toma de la muestra. No aplique tratamiento antimicótico de uso tópico (ungüentos, lociones, cremas, remedios caseros, entre otros) diez (10) días antes de la toma de la muestra o según indicaciones de su médico. No se aplique talcos ni cremas desde el día anterior a la toma del examen.
